You're totally right (IMO of course). But also I see A.net tends to nerf overused skills but not that much pumps up underused skills.
Lets take a FotW: smiting Elmos.
They've nerfed: Divine Boon, Zealot's Fire, Draw Conditions, Protective Bond, Chain Lightning.
They've pumped up: Meteor, Fireball, anything else? (seriously, I have bad memory, and I know bad things are easier to remember, thats how Murphy's law works no? xD)
What happens with:
Iron Mist: changing dmg dealer to earth could use, downing the speed %
Glyph of energy {E}: cmon, 5 ene and no exhaustion more than Glyph of lesser energy doesn't make sense to be an elite to me.
Ice Spear: Why should it have half the spell range?
Conver Hexes: only necro hexes give +10 armor. In PvE you can expect the mobs your going to face, but in PvP you don't know what you get until you can't change skills. Down the +10 armor and make it work with any hexes?
And much more I don't really know. The balance nerf/pump up is clearly to nerf. Not that I'm saying that some skills needed to be nerfed, what I'm saying is there are skills that *almost* noone uses and should be made better.
Greetz!

I cant see why anything will be nerfed except ER which is clearly dominating atm. maybe some tweaks so that preps dont still hit even if the arrow misses?
Some buffs to some underused skills would be awesome e.g.
1. Water Skills could do with some enhancments
2. Enchant removal
3. Change warrior hp buffs to like endure pain etc to come on and off the top of ur life bar, not the bottom!
4. Id like deep wound to also come off the top of your hp bar and not the bottom, i hate the instant death it gives u if ur low on hp
Looking forward to skill changes tho, always good

Live...?
I wonder if the top matches will be watchable, that would be really cool. Imagine, if you were in the top matches, playing, knowing that probably thousands of people are watching you. No pressure.

Then it will only be a matter of time before all skills would be useless. People should have the freedom to use whaterever skils they want. They shouldn't be forced into using one set of skills. Plus there is always a counter to the uber builds. Just let freedom work itself out.
There will always be an uber build of some kind. If GW keeps nerfing the game won't be worth playing.
I like the idea of Wold Championships though.

But everything would be nerfed relative to everything else, so in actual fact it would remain balanced. O PRAY HERE COMES YE APOCALYPSE.....:/

its gonna be real fun considering 50% of the top 20 guilds are smurf guilds and anet never addressed it. theyre gonna have to now becasue you cant play yourself for a champoinship.
the good thing that comes out of it (to me anyway) is loser guilds like pank and ab who got a high rank from doing guild lord rushes arent going to have much of a chance in the tourney.

hmm.. the finals are in February... Isn't that right around the time the new chapter will be coming out? (Wink Wink Say No More )
EDIT: By what date to guild members need to be 18 to be eligable for the regionals? (Or if I read wrong, and you only need to be 18 for the finals, same question but for eligibility for the finals). One of my guilds best players is 17 right now, but will be 18 before the 1st. In the unlikely event we make it to the regionals, will he be able to play?

Further Refinements
On the back end, we will be performing extensive data mining to learn who is playing with whom, and to assure that there is legitimacy in the player base and within the guild. We will actively ban non-legitimate players and disqualify guilds who engage in ladder abuse, ratings manipulation, or any other violations of the Terms of Service or the Rules of Conduct.

One thing... why do they nerf PvE W/Mo smiters, when this is a PvP based update?

Anet is always going to nerf. They established that precedent just this summer.

Zexion: because you can't nerf the skills for PvP and not nerf them in PvE...the skills work across both environments.
I guess this means I'm going to have to get a guild now...
Anet: can you get off your ass and implement a /togglecape already?? Honestly...it's been high on everyones want lists since beta and you've never even addressed it outside of "we're going to do it"...

Hey, now, we've sort of been focusing on minor things like World Championships, Skill Balance, Ladder Reset, Observer Mode, etc.
We are working on many things, and we will get to the matter of cape toggles. But this cosmetic request is not as high on the list as critical changes, or game- or balance-related issues, and those have been our priority from the start. We thank everyone for his patience *ahem* on this matter.

No no, not a burn! Just an honest explanation with what I hoped was a little humour.
